RESTAURANT DINO
Same owners since 1897
Only
36 years after the creation of the Kingdom of Italy,
the Trattoria Dino was created (in 1897).
My great grandfather Giuseppe Raveggi, called “Geppo”
threw his energy into opening a small grocery shop near Settimo
in the small village of San Colombano, just a few hundred meters
from the Arno river.
For
many years this small shop has been a renowned Trattoria,
a meeting place for the Florentine “foodies”
and not only.
There are many stories to tell about the Arno plains –
how it was in the past and how it has been transformed through the
years following events that changed the world.
The
old but solid walls of the Trattoria Dino have
resisted floods and have directly survived the
terrible years of the WWII and the German occupation,
history that seems to be long time ago, but not all that long ago.
For
over 100 years the trattoria has been run by the Raveggi family
- today we are on the fourth generation - who have been able to
send down through time (from father to son) the flavors,
the quality and the friendliness of the old Tuscan trattorie.
